1. National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History.
It is the oldest museum in Moldova. It was opened in October 1889 with the occasion of the first agricultural exhibition in Bessarabia, organized at the initiative of Baron A. Stuart. Currently has an endowment of about 135 thousand pieces. It holds an important collection of exhibits about the natural history of the Republic of Moldova.

2.The Village’s Museum, Chisinau.
The museum opened in 1995 as a branch of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History. It houses monuments of folk architecture.

3. National Museum of Arts.
Located in downtown Chisinau, holds an impressive collection of Orthodox icons. Interesting works of European and local artists can be found in the exhibition.

4. National Museum of Archaeology and History.
The National Museum of Archaeology and History is the most important institution in Moldova, in terms of its heritage and scientific prestige. National Museum of Archaeology and History has 320,000 pieces in its property, which illustrate the history and diverse Moldovan transformations over the centuries.

6.House-Museum A. S. Pushkin, Chisinau.
The museum was inaugurated on the 10th of February 1948 in the house of the merchant Naumov. The four exhibition halls are dedicated to the work and activities of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. In the courtyard the memorial house is located – the one in which Pushkin lived. The house had its exterior and interior restored, so that it looked as it was in the early nineteenth century.

7. The Town’s History Museum. It was founded in December 1979, in the former water tower. It is assumed that the architect of the tower’s project was A.I. Bernardazzi. He kept the interior metal staircase leading to the upper level (where the water tank was located). After its restoration it was equipped with an elevator, which ascends to the upper terrace where you can watch the city panorama. Tower height – 22 m .

8. The Museum of Military History
The museum holds a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Second World War. The exhibition presents a wide range of weapons, including mortars, spare military clothes: uniforms from the regular army, uniforms of the NKVD troops, army helmets from the various factions participating in the war, Soviet propaganda used during the war.

9.The Museum of Romanian Literature
Currently, the Museum of Romanian Literature has over 100 000 units exhibit items: manuscripts, books, periodicals, graphic art (portraits, busts, pictures, batch), prints, photographs and objects left by the writers. The museum, through the historical, documentary and literary collection, offers a diverse material for study, intended for field researchers and for the general public as well, permanent exhibitions on the history of Romanian literature and contemporary literary process giving them a hint at their heritage.

1.The Museum Complex „Balioz Mansion” (Traditional Art Museum) Ivancea, Orhei. The Traditional Art Museum of Moldova was founded in 1984, using the old collections of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, and is the only museum in Moldova which fully presents traditional crafts. 2. The House of the Lazo family, Piatra village, Orhei.
In this place grew Sergei Lazo, hero of the Russian Civil War. The mansion is set amidst a garden, facing the valley Raut.

3.Museum Complex – “Old Orhei”, Orhei. The complex includes: The Orhei medieval town, museum, „Orhei” fortress, „Trebujeni – Potarca” fortress (century IV – III BC.), Dacian fortress (century IV – III BC.), the complex of traditional architecture (early twentieth century) in Butuceni. Location: Trebujeni and Butuceni Orhei.
On the territory of the museum complex – that stretches across 220 hectares – have been preserved ruins of several civilizations, such as the Geto-Dacian fortress (X-I century BC), the Tatar-Mongolian city called Shehr al-Cedid (XIV century AD) and Moldovan city Orhei (XV-XVII century AD).

4. The Museum of History and Ethnography, Orhei.
The local History and Ethnography Museum is located in the house of Mircea Bengulescu, former architect of the city. The museum’s collection contains more than 20,000 exhibits, the most valuable collections being the ones of coins and antique books. The museum’s permanent exhibition is devoted to historical and archaeological research on the county Orhei.

5. House-Museum “A. Donici”, Donici village , Orhei.
Opened in 1976, the museum is opened in the old mansion of the Doinici family. In 1806 the writer Alexander Donici is born here.
Near the house are located: the church built by the writer’s father, the family graves, and the spring “Stânca”, arranged by the family of Demetrius and Helena Donici.

6.Museum-Complex “Saharna-Tipova”, Saharna Rezina village , Tipova Orhei county. Monastery of Saharna.
The monastic cave assembly of Tipova is set atop steep cliffs, opening a charming view of the river Dniester, which is situated 100 m above sea level. It is believed that some cells were dug into the rocky side of the bank in the X-XII.
The Tipova Monastery is one of the most beautiful in Bessarabia. It is located above the bank and comprises three monastic complexes carved out of rock. The first set consists of several huts and a church dedicated to the Holy Cross and dates from XI-XII. St. Nicholas Church was the center of the second monastery complex, founded in the fourteenth century. The largest cluster of cells are around the Church of Assumption, dating from the XVI-XVIII.

The museum complex “Villa Park Mîndîc”, Mîndîc village, Drochia. Monument to the history and landscape architecture from the late nineteenth century, it is located a few miles from the village with the same name. It has an area of 16.4 ha. Belonged to Lord Ohanowicz – an aristocate with Polish origin. Near mansion is situated the family tomb. Both house and family tomb require restoration.
1.The “Church of the Assumption” is situated in Causeni town. It was built in the XVII-XVIII. The walls are entirely covered with frescos. It is a monument of great historical and artistic significance. The frescoes of the Assumption Church present a symbiosis of traditional techniques – Athonite Byzantine frescoes and fresco techniques of the eighteenth century from the Romanian Country.

2. House-museum of writer and poet “A. Mateevici”, Zaim village, Causeni. The Zaim house-museum was built by the poet’s father, Michael Mateevici, a priest, near the village church. The spacious courtyard of the museum is full of trees and flowers. Since 1990 the house holds a monument to Alexei Mateevici. The six rooms of the museum play the spirit of the age in which the writer lived, having exhibited paintings, sculptures, household items and documents, a library of rare books, antique furniture.

„Ralli Mansion”, Dolna village, Straseni district. It Dates back to the early nineteenth century and it belonged to the Ralli family. It has a traditional architecture and it is known for the fact that it was often visited by the Russian poet A. S. Pushkin, between 1820-1823, during his exile in Bessarabia. In 1946, the mansion was turned into a museum, that later becamen a branch of the museum „A. S. Pushkin „from Chisinau. In the 70s of the twentieth century it is reconstructed. Most museum exhibits are brought to St. Petersburg and Chisinau.

The Museum of History and Ethnography, Balti.
It was created on the 14th of October 1960. It features 34,027 exhibits. The museum presents the public with information about the material and spiritual life of the people in this area. The museum of Cahul. Inaugurated on 30 July 1958. The museum’s heritage consists of about 16 thousand exhibits of an undeniable artistic and cultural value, provided from research, purchase and donation. The museum also houses a rich collection of weapons and firearms, archeological objects and numismatics, old books and documents. A distinct place is the ethnographic collection, which holds folk elements, domestic textile industry, decorative and household goods. The museum presents to the public in the showroom information about the material and spiritual life of the inhabitants of southern Bessarabia. The section includes such thematic collections of birds and animals specific to the three southern ecosystems, and paleozoology artifacts, which reflect the geological history of the earth. The Department of Archaeology evokes the evolution of human society from the Palaeolithic to the Romanian pre-state formations.

The Gagauz National Museum of History and Ethnography was founded in Besalma village on the 16th of September 1966. Since 1988 the museum was named after its founder Cara D. Ciobanu, writer and researcher of gagauz origin. In the museum there are collected over 6,000 museum exhibits. In the showroom there are the works of renowned artists from Moldova and Găgăuzia. The exhibition illustrates the history, culture and daily life of the Gagauz from ancient times to the modern days. The museum contains originals and copies of works in the field of ethno scientists, Gagauz history and ethnography.

The Museum of History and Ethnography, Hincesti.
The mansion itself – a true French-style castle, with a winter garden, guard towers and a park – was built in the second half of the XIX century by Alexander Bernardazzi ,the architect of the project, and for several decades has been owned by the Mirzoian family, Manuc-Bey’s descendants.
In 1970 inside the mansion a museum was opened, whose collection has over 20,000 artefacts. Of highest value is the collection of national Moldovan costumes and textile goods. Also, the museum houses permanent exhibitions: „Maps and Documents”, „Moldova’s rulers,” “ethnography”, the diorama of the Iasi-Chisinau Fight during the Second World War, and also an exhibition dedicated to Moldova’s fauna and flora. Particularly interesting is the collection of butterflies and birds.

Museum of local village crafts, Văsleni, Ialoveni
What could be more precious than a corner of the village, to which we turn our steps when the soul is stirred by nostalgia for the simple country life? A young museum, opened in May 22, 2000, the village’s Day – St. Nicholas of Summer.
Opening the museum was an important event in the cultural life of the village. The museum reflects the past, present and future of the village, the life and livelihood of the inhabitants, through the exhibitions:

„Deportations – To Siberian Ice” – which embodies list of deportees in 1941, 1945, 1946, 1949.

Museum of History and Ethnography, Leova.
It was founded inside the local library in 1973. The museum’s collection numbers 10 655 objects;
Thematic collections: historical, ethnographic, documentary, literary, numismatic, philatelic. An impressive exhibition is the one dedicated to the brothers Peter and John Aldea Teodorovici.
The museum has two exhibition halls: „Leova Old Town” and „Leova – contemporary”

Founded in 1981. The museum is located on the premises of the former mansion „Buiucliu” from the 19th century, built in Moldavian style.

History and Ethnography Museum, founded in 1959, Soroca.
The Local Director of the Museum of History and Ethnography, Nicholas Bulat, unique scientist who deals with the history of Soroca County has managed to transform the museum into one of the richest and most interesting historical museums in Moldova. The museum collections contain approximately 30,000 artifacts, the most interesting objects found during archaeological excavations in the city of Soroca, and Varvareuca Trifauti.

Soroca fortress. Soroca fortress was founded by Voivode Stephen the Great (Stefan cel Mare), in the fifteenth century. The fortress which rises from the meadow of the river Dniester was later rebuilt by his son, Petru Rares, who made the stone walls. The first documentary attestation of Soroca was on 12 July 1499, in the Royal Court from Harlau. Sources say the city’s name comes from the fact that Moldovans are believed to be good wizards and fortune tellers, thus the verb „a soroci” – to exorcise, to tell the fate, formed “Soroca”.

Private Museum – “House of grandparents”. Bisericeni locality, Cuhneşti community, Glodeni district. On the side of the river Prut, in the village Bisericeni, Cuhneşti community, the “Grandma’s house” museum was inaugurated. Host of the museum „Grandma’s House” is Mrs. Nina Ceban, which by realizing this idea paid tribute to her mother Natalia Ceban, war widow with four children …
The Museum aims to restore the value of traditions and crafts of the moldavian village.
